I wasn't sure if any of you all were into fantasy as well as horror. IT seems to me like most of the horror fans are horror/action only. I'm a huge fan of Mercedes Lackey and some other small press fantasy. If anyone wants to discuss fantasy books or movies, that'd be awesome!

I enjoy fantasy as much as I enjoy horror. I very much enjoy the late Robert Jordan and his passing was a big blow to the fantasy world. One cannot help but notice horror and fantasy do mix quite well....

They do indeed mix quite well and quite easily. It seems that Clive Barker really took a turn into Fantasy at some point. His tales I often refer to as fantastical. They are usually modern day settings, but with a highly fantasy concept involving other worlds and bizarre creatures (not always evil.) And then some authors like Dennis McKiernan are pure fantasy, but his tales have such a dark edge to them...

I happen to enjoy Terry Goodkind (though it take 'til the second book to really get going)... it is perhaps my favorite series ever, or merely close.
