Part two of this post apocalyptic series introduces the reader to new interesting characters and picks up exactly where it left off with the characters from part one. In this book we meet Johnny, a scary looking man that doesn't talk. The author also introduces the President and his wife as they struggle to find one another and be reunited. The author also delves deeper into the mind of some characters that he introduces in part one. The characters continue to try to survive the zombie apocalypse. Along the way they learn that zombies aren't their only worry and that they must work together and leave their old lives behind if they want to survive. I really enjoyed reading Dead Tide Rising. The story was easier to follow than it was in part one. The characters were better developed and were a lot more like able and relatable. This zombie story doesn't have any major twists, nor is its storyline unheard of. However, it is a very well written zombie story and I highly recommend it. I give this book a solid 4 stars because even though it is nothing out of the ordinary in the zombie sub genre, it is a very entertaining and well written novel.
