The dead have risen and the living must fight to survive. Aming many characters exist the more prominent ones such as Talaski, an angry and mean cop that doesn't care about very much and can't seem to keep his anger under control. Matt Keller is a bug and strong an ex soldier and is Talaski's only friend. Trish is a lonely exotic dancer. Graham is a divorced taxi cab driver and Dodd is a useless and cowardly police officer with a slight mental illness. Dead Tide follows the journeys of all these characters, and several more, as they struggle to survive in a world that has fallen to the horrors of the undead. My main problem with this book was how confusing it was. There are so many characters and so many different settings that I found myself constantly lost. The author writes this book so that each short chapter switches from character to character. Maybe if he had less characters or the reader could read the book in its entirety in one sitting, this could of worked. Unfortunately, most readers don't have that kind of time. Another problem I had with this book was that even though it has about a billion different characters, obviously I'm exaggerating, none of them were likeable or relatable. The characters were all either mean, psycho, or perverts. Overall, this book left much to be desired and for that reason, I feel it is worthy of 3.5 stars.
