AFTER THE FIRE is a short read that won't take you more than an evening, but what an evening it'll be. The author does a fantastic job at building tension; no secret is revealed too soon and we find ourselves following Frank Neely in a quest to rid himself of the ghosts that have tormented him since a horrific day thirty summers ago. The world described by Ward is so clear, we can almost touch it as we go from abject disgust to shedding a tear in the name of lost innocence. AFTER THE FIRE is a great story, and though the final twist is less than imaginative, the story's resolution leaves the reader with a sense of deep satisfaction. Plus, the ride is more than worth it. Now, go read it. To know more about the author, go to www.wyrdtales.net
