Wives and wives and wives, oh my! You have to give Negan some credit. He might like his smorgasbord of women, but he makes honest women of them! He makes them all his wives. He even takes care of them! He provides all of them with their own sexy wardrobes and private quarters! The one thing that the wives cannot do is “cheat.” Negan can keep taking wives, but the wives only get one husband. Negan doesn’t share.
Negan seems to get off on rubbing the fact that he is married to Dwayne’s wife in his face. I don’t know how Dwayne maintains his anger. You know he has to be seething. He gets half his face seared off and still has to bear witness to Negan making out with his wife. Then, to add insult to injury, Negan makes Dwayne heat up the iron to cook another man’s face. Either he is biding his time or he is defeated. What do you think?
In the previous episode, we see that Carl has gone rogue. He hides on one of Negan’s trucks in the vast convoy heading to the lair of the Saviors. Carl goes commando and opens fire on Negan’s men with the sole purpose of killing Negan. Negan just whistles in his creepy way and flashes that million dollar smile. This man is completely impressed by Carl’s courage. He even offers to help Carl up, but Carl isn’t budging. I think this truly bothers Negan. When someone turns down what he deems generosity, it gets under his skin.
Rosita is angry. She has every right to be. She wants Eugene to make a bullet for her. She doesn’t care about how this could potentially backfire and hurt innocent people. Spencer is trying to spread his anti-Rick propaganda. It isn’t flying. Father Gabriel tries to explain how Rick inspired him. If you remember, Father Gabriel did not start off being Rick’s biggest fan. The change in their relationship was monumental in my opinion. So, after hearing Spencer’s rhetoric, he politely asks him to stop the car to let him out and walks back to Alexandria. Not one person is biting what Spencer is feeding.
Back at Negan’s, he asks Carl to take the bandage off. Refusal is not an option. Carl unwraps his eye begrudgingly. Negan starts making obnoxious comments about it. Carl starts crying and you can see that Negan genuinely feels remorse. He apologizes because he keeps forgetting that under all that machismo, Carl is still a kid. After demanding Carl to sing a song and Carl basically calling Negan a fool for allowing him and his father to live, Negan decides to take Carl home to Alexandria.
Negan and Carl arrive in Alexandria and poor Olivia has to deal with Negan. He insults her, then tries to compliment her by saying he would bang her. She slaps him and that seems to turn him on! After exploring the house, he stumbles upon Judith and seems to love holding the little girl.
Rosita was able to get Eugene to make the bullet through some major bullying. As they are returning to Alexandria she tries to apologize, but Eugene isn’t having it. Spencer drives up with supplies and seems pretty satisfied with himself.
We end this episode with Negan advising Carl that maybe he should kill both him and his father. And I leave this episode wondering if Negan has a dentist hiding in that compound because he has perfect choppers!!!
