The title track, The Conjuring begins with a crescendo of chaotic sounds calling you into the unnerving hauntings. It rings with a disharmonic melody of demons, a foreshadowing of things to come. Clap Game and Witch Perch the third and fourth tracks were seriously haunting melodies which take you down dark hallways and through doors that mysteriously open and close on their own. Bishara has definitely synchronized his harmonies with the hauntings.
Several of the tracks are less than a minute, but you definitely get the idea that the world is not as it seems in this tale. I relistened to several tracks as I wasn't sure if there were voices in the background or not, but it is actually the orchestra creating all the disturbing sounds, very creepy! The last track, The Family Theme sums up what this family suffered through and steers away from the darkness with a somewhat uplifting melody of hope.
This soundtrack echoes an outstanding job by both the composer and the orchestra. But it is what it is, a soundtrack, not a great selection to kick back and just listen unless it is Halloween or you are seriously into soundtracks. That being said, it is a solid soundtrack. I give it 4 stars for the excellent creepy factor. Go see the movie!
