Julian is an admired aristocrat of Charleston society. He is elegant, charming and over the top handsome. Natalie is a beautiful ballerina who is seduced by Julian's charms, what she doesn't know is his deepest secret, part of which is locked in the Bloodroom at Lion's Court, Julian's mansion. The verbal and physical play between Julian and Natalie is what makes the novel so alluring. Bloodroom is a story of seduction played out beautifully. You can palpably feel the struggle Julian has between his human and vampire personas. I really like Naima's style of writing, the words and metaphors flow like petals on the wind. I was never ready to put the book down and when I had to, I couldn't wait to pick it up again. This is erotica and erotica done very well and with class. The horror in the book is also done very well and will surely throw some gritty scares your way, Naima can dig into horror as well as erotica and serve them up in an oh so wicked way. If you like vampire novels, you will love Bloodroom, if you don't, you should check it out anyway. It is smart, seductive and very sexy. I give it 5 stars and a big thumbs up! You can purchase Bloodroom on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Bloodroom-Naima-Haviland/dp/147508577X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1376167039&sr=1-1&keywords=bloodroom , a kindle version is available too. I also enjoyed this book thoroughly. When I saw the movie Black Swan, I couldn't help but draw comparisons. Mind you, that could be because there aren't a whole lot of horror stories that involve ballet. But both were really well done.
